Como instalar debian en nslu2 siendo un cateto en Linux
Primero contaros que soy un cateto en linux pero preguntando consegui ponerselo. Yo uso en exclusiva para descargar torrents mediante rtorrent. En general hay que dar 3 pasos para poder hacerlo. El primer paso seria borrar el software que trae de fabrica. Luego hay que instalar debian. Por ultimo hay que instalar el software que se quiera.
1- PASO BORRAR EL SOFTWARE
Primero con el nslu2 nuevo segui los pasos de esta pagina para poder quitar el software que traia. Esto solo lo he hecho una vez y casi no me acuerdo de como lo hice pero fue siguiendo esta pagina.

El problema que tuve fue que en la instalacion de debian ocurrio un error y se quedo colgado por eso tuve que usar "upgrade utillity" para volver a revivirlo. Puede que quede todo un poco confuso pero son las anotaciones que he ido cogiendo segun lo instalaba. Si en algun paso el bicho se queda colgado podeis hacer esto mismo para revivirlo:
creo entender que al quedarse colgado ahora no puedes acceder al nslu para volver a colocar el firm y empezar con la instalacion,,no?
tranquilo, no hay problema, lo he tenido que hacer unas 10 veces y siempre perfecto, la primera vez te pone de los nervios, tarda mucho, pero paciencia, no lo tires contra la pared......
otra cosa mas grave es que te quedes sin el redboot, luego no podria ayudarte, pero lo que suele pasar no es tan grave
sigue EXACTAMENTE estas instrucciones:
bajate este programa(para windows) upgrade utillity, si no lo encuentras en google o buscando redboot, te lo mando. (como no puedo subirlo lo cuelgo en rapidshare)

te mando en un adjunto ;-)) jod... no lo deja mandar por lo de los ejecutables, bueno.... le cmbio el nombre
descomprime el archivo y veras uno que se llama setup.sps le pones setup.exe y lo instalas ;-))))
lo instalas y en principio no encuentra nada para actualizar. claro no tienes el nslu2 en modo upgrade....
vamos a ello
1- configura tu conexion como:
al router 192.168.0.2
en el pc
192.168.0.11 o 192.168.0.XX distinta a 1
255.255.255.0
192.168.0.1
cuando arranque el nslu2 tienes 2 segundos para entrar por esta ip y el puerto 9000 sin conectar el disco duro
2- el nslu2 parado, pero enchufado, vas a ejecutar/cmd y pones: telnet 192.168.0.1 9000 no toques el enter.
3- una mano en el boton de el nslu2 y otra en enter, arranca el nslu2 y acto seguido le das a enter (tienes 2 segundos..)
4- en cmd dira... conectando y segun aparezca "executin...", dale o manten control+c, y saldra redboot (un monton de veces)
5- escribe upgrade y enter. No hace esperar a ninguna respuesta.
6- mirate el nslu2 el rojo parpadea uffff
7-abre el upgade utillity y busca, ahora ya encuentra el bicho,aceptar, busca el archivo de firm y aceptar, luego upgrade (puedes fumarte un cigarrito o bien ir al wc, tarda lo suyo) la firm la puedes bajar de aqui http://www.slug-firmware.net/d-dls.php
8- Ya esta pon otra vez la red como estaba 192.168.1.1 en el router.
9- al reiniciar tiene que hacer los 3 pitidos para poder acceder,Mete el disco duro o pendrive en "disk 2" y la ip es la 192.168.1.77.
2- PASO PARA INSTALAR DEVIAN 5.03
10- login as: installer
11- installer@192.168.1.77's password:install
Se ha flasheado correctamente, ahora toca instalar el debian, las pantallas que salen

hay que realizar 3 particiones dos ext3 y otra extendida. la extendida sera linux-swap
luego hay que formatearlas. Yo tuve problemas a la hora de crear las particiones.
lo que hice fue:
1- Cargar el ubuntu en el pc
2-dispositivo/establecer tabla de particiones para borrar todas las particiones
3-sistema/administracion/editor de particiones y hay que crear 3 (ext3 (2veces) y extendida)
4- la extendida hay que darle el formato linux-swap
5- hay que formatear las particiones.
Seleccionar "Manual" y tiene que quedar algo asi:
Hay que entrar en cada una de las particiones y con la opcion (exactamente no me acuerdo)
"mount point" decimos si son "/" o "/home" o "swap"
Me ha quedado las opciones y particiones asi:
SCSI1 (0,0,0) part. 1 11 GiB ext3 / la barra "/" significa root
SCSI1 (0,0,0) part. 2 454 GiB ext3 /home
SCSI1 (0,0,0) part. 5 996 MiB swap

la particion /home no la he formateado porque no quiero borrar los datos que hay dentro
pero la primera vez se puede formatear pero yo tengo peliculas y no quiero borrarlas.

Pulsar "continue" y se reinicia. Al reiniciarse continua instalando ciertos paquetes que necesita.
Tras dejarlo toda la noche a la mañana siguiente vi quetenia 3 luces encendidas: Ready/Status, Ethernet y Disk2
3- PASO INSTALAR EL SOFTWARE NECESARIO
Esto es lo mas sencillo pero en terminos generales se necesitan 3 programas: rtorrent, screen, proftpd y en windows necesito cuteftp.

apt-get install rtorrent
apt-get install screen
apt-get install proftpd
ahora tendras que buscar en google como configurar el rtorrent y el proftpd. No es complicado pero me saldria largisimo este manual. Por cierto yo suelo poner unos 7 torrents a la vez descargando.
